USA: Florida - Ft. Myers Beach
Our family has enjoyed going to Ft. Myers Beach for 17 years. Estero Island has beautiful beaches, huge pier for those who love to fish, many motels/resorts with pools and shopping. Estero Island offers water frontage on the Gulf side, or the inlet/waterway side.
We travel by car.
We have stayed at the Best Western's Pink Shell Resort and Best Western Beach Resort. Both are great places for families, comfortable, accessible to shopping, the pier, fishing, pools.
The motels/resorts where we have stayed offer small kitchens, and we have brought our own food, which is a savings for a family. However, there are several restaurant close by.
Besides enjoying the sun and beaches and pool, the Shell Factory and Edison's Muesum is within driving distance, plus many other activities to entertain families, such as putt putt golf.
Most motels/resorts have pools.
Both Best Westerns have a list of babysitters available for those needing them. Both places have a full day of activities planned for the family..."make your own sundae", swimming aroabics, hide & seek activities, to name a few.
